Because cars from different countries that have steering wheels on the other side cannot be registered in Dubai.
Eligibility to import a car in UAE
– You should be a valid UAE resident with a UAE resident visa
– You need to have a valid UAE driving license issued from any Emirate of UAE.
Documents required for Import / Export
- Invoice of your car to prove ownership, value, and registration date(original)
- Certificate of the vehicle was made
- Passport, driving license, visa and bring copies as well(original)
- Shipping receipt (Original)
- Cash or cheque to pay custom fees
Car export document for Individuals
1. Car documents: Vehicle Clearance Certificate (VCC) or transfer certificate or possession certificate
2. Original Emirates ID
3. Vehicle’s plates to hand over
4. Clearances report from the police if 1 or both plates are lost
5. Need Vehicle technical inspection in case of an expired license / non-licensed vehicle
6. Electronic redemption of the mortgage (case of a mortgaged vehicle)
7. If you are exporting car to new customer need. new insurance to issue export plates
8. Vehicle insurance(export insurance valid for 14 days
Car export document for Companies
1. Car documents: Vehicle Clearance Certificate (VCC) or transfer certificate or possession certificate
2. Official letter in Arabic
3. Trade licence copy
4. Endorsement of signature & authorization letter.
5. Car plates to hand over
6. Car technical inspection
7. Electronic redemption of the mortgage in case of a mortgaged vehicle
8. If the customer requests the exportation of vehicle under the name of another owner: new insurance to issue export plates
9. Car insurance Copy of the trade licence
